The Project

Cộng Cà Phê is a Vietnamese coffee house chain known for its distinctive decor and high-volume drink service. When they opened a new location in Mississauga, they needed a licensed commercial plumber to handle the full plumbing scope for the tenant fit-out. Portimão Plumbing was brought in to complete the job from the ground up, coordinating with the general contractor and delivering within the client's construction timeline.

Restaurant and cafe fit-outs come with their own set of plumbing demands. Behind-the-bar sink stations, prep area drainage, high-traffic washrooms, and mechanical room tie-ins all need to be executed correctly the first time. Portimão Plumbing handled every element of the scope.

Why Restaurant Plumbing Requires a Licensed Contractor

In Ontario, all commercial plumbing work must be performed by a licensed plumber and is subject to inspection under the Ontario Building Code. Restaurants and cafes have additional requirements around grease traps, drainage, and fixture spacing. Choosing a contractor who is licensed, insured, and WSIB compliant protects the building owner, the general contractor, and the occupants.

Scope of Work

The full plumbing scope at the Cộng Cà Phê Mississauga location included the following:

  • Wall-Mounted Toilets — wall-mounted toilet installations with concealed cisterns and dual-flush plates, providing a clean, modern look and easy maintenance for a high-traffic commercial washroom
  • Washroom Plumbing — compact wall-mounted sinks with matte black faucets, full drain rough-ins, and complete fixture installations for the customer washroom
  • Bar Sink Rough-Ins — hot and cold supply lines, bar sinks, prep sinks, and rinse stations plumbed behind the counter to support high-volume coffee service
  • Drain Tie-Ins to Mechanical Room — tied into the mechanical room drain line, connecting all washroom and bar drainage to the building's main system
  • Complete Tenant Fit-Out — full plumbing scope for the entire unit, from rough-in through to final fixture installation and testing

Meeting the Client's Timeline

In commercial construction, the plumbing contractor is a critical path trade. Delays in plumbing rough-ins hold up drywall, flooring, and finishing work, which pushes the entire project back. Portimão Plumbing understands this, and our commitment to clear communication and on-schedule delivery means general contractors and building owners can count on us to keep the project moving.

The Cộng Cà Phê Mississauga fit-out was completed on time and without issue, allowing the client to proceed with finishing trades and open their new location on schedule.
